  18. Exactly.  Everybody has become excited after Visacorp has made some
  19. noises about supporting the amiga and coming out with new amiga-based
  20. technologies.  But they have been damn vague about what sort of Amiga
  21. they'll be aiming for in the future.  In one post a representative
  22. of the company said that they 'will consider' bringing out new
  23. amiga models.  Visicorp has *not* even come close to saying that
  24. they are interested in the amiga's future as a *PC*.  
  25.     I don't want or need a set top or souped-up CDTV: I wan't
  26. a computer.  I have a feeling (I hope I'm wrong) that we're going
  27. to be hearing a lot of nonsense about 'breaking down the barriers' and 
  28. 'making meaningless' the difference between a set-top and a PC.  
  29. For the near future they are going to remain very different creatures.
  30. The presence of so many former Amiga people at the company is some
  31. cause for hope; the bottom line at any *real* company, however, is 
  32. making profit for the stockholders.  
  33.     It would be nice to hear from Visicorp what sort of plans,
  34. if any, they have for the Amy's future *as a PC*.  That way, at
  35. least, a lot of us will finally know whether to go out and
  36. reluctantly plunk down the bucks for a PC clone, or to brazen it out
  37. and wait for the next generation of Amigas PC's.
